D I Day 8

Today we began the day with a reflection on how our week was at school and what changes had we made to our sites. Then we all worked on creating a test site using the Google Sites Fundamental Training Manual. After having a play with all the different options on the drop down menu, this is what I managed to create:

Thank you Dorothy and James for helping us through the session when we were stuck.  There is still more to add on to the site and I hope to get this done before our next DI session.

Digital Immersion Wk 7

It was a day well spent. So much of learning in such a small space of time.  The highlight was looking at some very creative class sites and critiquing it. Some very constructive comments were made while some comments were sort of "disturbing" to some.

I was able to make some changes to my site and I will be working towards adding more features and graphics to make my site more visible.

Thank you Dorothy and James for your time and effort in keeping us going.

Day 6 Digital Intensive

Yes, I am getting better at creating google sites. Today was an exciting day for me as I got more hands on practice on google sites with a lot of one on one support from Dorothy, Matt and "Superman" James.  The whole group worked on  creating their individual site on Professional Standard for Teaching Profession.

This is what my Homepage for the site looks like:

Thank you  Matt for sharing your learning on HTML with us all. This is a doc from Matt with all the different links he has used to enlighten us on HTML HTML

Towards the end of the day, the whole group got an opportunity to share their creations through chromecast.

Day 5 Digital Intensive

To day was an exciting day for me at the MET Digital Intensive session. After reflecting on what each one of us used in our classroom from last weeks session, we had the pleasure of listening to Fiona share her learning on Cybersmart and being cybersmart.

Then we got into  groups to  plan a site that is multi-modal. We used a padlet to do our planning on. Click on the link to look at our plan.

Once our plan was done, each one of us worked on our site.  This is what my site looks like.

Day 4 at the DI Intensive Workshop

I thoroughly enjoyed this session with James because it was the first time for me to really learn about how to use a chromebook without using the Mousepad - “short cuts” using the the keyboard only.

The session on using the iPad was very challenging for me  being a “D D” learner. It  was like trying to make a 1930 Rolls Royce compete against a 2017 Ford Mustang. Free vector graphic: Smiley, Emoticon, Happy, Face, Icon - Free ...

I must say, I did enjoy the EE  shared by Ben, Trish and Charlotte. “ I am wondering if these EE’s on iPads will eventually replace us in the classroom in the  near future”.

Day 3 at MET PLG

Week 3 at the Digital Immersion Intensive PLD at Manaiakalani has been so intensive and challenging at the same time. We have looked at Gmail, Teacher Dashboard, Google Calendar, Hangouts, Google Keep and many more. I found the Hang out session very interesting and I really enjoyed this session. I still need a lot of practice to become really good at using Google calendars and Hang outs.

My Travels

I found this session on creating maps and then embedding it on to the blog very challenging. Finally I managed to create a map and mark all the places I had visited in the last five years.  Wow, I did it guys and I feel so great now. This was part of the work we did at the MET PLG Day 2.

Dorothy and and James have been awesome teachers today.

This map shows the places I have visited in the last five years.
